Banner Ads are Big Business

The market value of today's search engines is dictated in large part by the advertising revenue they bring in through banner ads. Currently, there are sites on the web that sell their products at cost and make their profit on banner ads. ALC recognizes this and takes banner ad locations into consideration when designing web sites.

Additionally, we've developed our own program for keeping track of banner ads, manipulating their location, their timing, etc. Here are some things we can do with the banner ads you may wish to sell on your web site.

  • Setup one record per advertiser
  • Assign one or more advertisement per advertiser
  • Define the pages on which you wish to display banners (actually, you can even define the locations where you want to display banners; i.e., a single web page could have two banner locations, one at the top and a different one at the bottom)
  • Group pages (locations) into categories. A page (location) can belong to multiple categories.
  • Set which banner ads appear in which categories
  • Define the number of times a banner ad is displayed:
    1. unlimited (run forever)
    2. limited by time (i.e., display banner X until May 30th, 1999)
    3. limited by number of views (i.e., display banner X 1000 times)
    4. limited by number of clicks (i.e., display banner X until it gets 50 hits)
  • Define flexibility
    1. Appear on every page on the site
    2. Appear only in certain sections
    3. Appear only on specific pages
  • Offer your advertisers a multiple banner package with separate stats for each. This allows your advertiser to test the effectiveness of each banner by the response it receives.
  • Rapid performance; all records run in an SQL database.
  • Get reports any way you want them - by impression, by click, by ad, by time, etc. And on top of all this, we can even design the banner ads for you!
